Fighting the Ban

The Hunting Act 2004 came into force in February 2005.  This illiberal
and unworkable law was brought in despite the hunting communities
protests and massed marches showing support for hunting and our way
of life.  Whilst we have adapted and kept going following the ban, we
have been working ever since to get the ban lifted and will continue to
do so.

During the 2005 election, we campaigned very actively in several
constituencies and were highly influential in several of them - we were
credited by the candidates in two seats as being critical in their
successful elections.  We found that a dedicated, small team can make
a difference.

We also take hounds into town centres, parade at shows, have kennels
open days and are delighted to take members of the press trail hunting
with us so they can see what we are up to and we can explain the
issues.

If you think that there is anything that you can do to help in this regard -
be it delivering leaflets, campaigning on the doorstep or taking part in
protests, please contact:

A protest was held at Newbury Show in September 2004 against
David Rendel's anti-hunting stance.   He lost his seat in 2005.
